One of the more interesting things I've picked up lately, this is truly a one-of-a-kind piece. I'm calling him a goat, but he could very well be a deer or antelope instead. This guy has cut stone eyes that, depending on conditions, alternate between a lively ruby-red that looks like it has a fire within to a striking obsidian black both dark and ferocious. His imposing horns feature an amusing loop until they finally taper of to a curved point. Of unknown origin, the brooch has no markings to indicate anything about his mysterious past or maker. I've never seen anything like it, and doubt I will again. FAIR WARNING: I'm no jeweler, but I'm fairly certain he's made out of brass. As for the eyes, they passed several self-administered tests that would suggest they are, in fact, made from Ruby, but I can't be certain one way or the other. If I happen to cross paths with a gemologist, I'll ask that they take a look. Otherwise, I have no plans to get the brooch valuated or certified. Additional pics are available upon request. Please send me a message if you have any questions. Thanks for taking a look!
