Please Note: These are used items. Each has been sprayed not more than twice, so for all intents and purposes, they are practically new. 99%+ still in each bottle. Unlike quite a few of Demeter's experiments, both Mahogany and Riding Crop are eminently wearable and rather spectacularly well-done. Riding Crop is not only one of the best leathers Demeter has ever done (and they make several of them, including one named simply "Leather"), but one of the best I've smelled period. This is worn leather. This is '78-Jaguar-XJ-interior leather. This is gentleman's-club-chesterfield-sofa-anointed-by-a-hundred-royal-backsides leather. This is obsessive-compulsive-octogenarian-equestrian's-well-oiled-simply-cannot-ride-without-lucky-riding-boot leather. This is leather that cannot simply be summoned at will, but instead must be worked over by frequent use and the passage of time. This is that leather. Mahogany, while it seems likely that it was meant to evoke mahogany wood specifically, to me evokes "wood" generally. I've smelled mahogany before but it's difficult for me to pin down the specific smell of the wood without having some of it around. And I'm fresh out of mahogany wood at the moment. Teak is a different story. I have teak out the wazoo. But, I digress... If what I detect as a general assemblage of wood notes really truly is only mahogany, all carpenters/craftspeople/speaker engineers/generalized purveyors of wooden things please take note: I'm only buying mahogany everything from here forward. I want this smell to be around me always. Think Comme des Garcon's various wood scents (which I love) without the ragged edge and rounded out a bit, and you'll be close.
