What it is: Pre-owned TUMI Work Messenger bag in Charcoal Gray Ballistic Nylon with separated Laptop Storage and Internal Filing System. The bag measures 18" L x 6" W x 13.5" H (measurements taken on empty bag). Not to be confused with the later TUMI T-TECH line / T2 which borrowed this bag's general aesthetic, but not its size, functionality, or dual pockets. This is the BIG PAPA of the Tumi work messengers. This bag has some serious capability. It's easily the most flexible, intuitive, and useful bag I've ever owned. I can get a little OCD about having a place for everything and everything in its place. Well, this bag satisfied that tendency almost to a fault. There are so many cleverly-designed pockets (15!) and nooks and hooks that you end up going right for what you need instead of rooting around and searching for it. No other bag (and I've been looking) comes close in terms of pure functionality. The bag features two main storage areas, one in the back which contains both a padded area to safely keep your laptop (up to 17") as well as a "lite" internal filing space for documents/folders as well as smaller items. The other storage area in the front is the more general hold of the two with enough space for everything else. In between the two resides the zipper to expand this bag to truly horrendous sizes...I used that feature once, and while I was glad I had it at the time, my back was not thanking me the next day. The bag also features a rubberized base that makes it ok that you mistook that puddle for a safe dry place, external baggage ID (never used so I suspect the original ID form is still in there), a meaty cross-body strap with thickly-padded shoulder protection and the easiest-to-attach-and-unattach-clips that mankind has ever seen, and a hyper-useful detachable key ring with tension wire (so you can easily grab your keys to unlock a door without ever actually detaching them from the safety of the key ring/bag). Finally, this being the BIG PAPA of Tumis, you also get Tumi Tracer for the life of the bag. That is currently under my name, but I will happily transfer all Tracer info to the new owner. PLEASE NOTE: The only thing that might detract you from all of this Tumi's hyperbolic excellence: There are THREE HOLES that have developed along the seam of the zipper for the main storage compartment, as shown in the listing pics. I don't think it's a design flaw as much as my tendency to weigh down the front storage pocket with too much stuff. Either way, the zipper still zips (just use both hands). I believe any seamstress/tailor should be capable of closing the holes and reinforcing the zipper for a not-obscene sum. Seriously, this bag is worth it. If I still had use for it, I wouldn't be selling it and I'd fix those holes myself.
